WHO PAYS FOR THE HISTORICAL MARKERS?

The cost of the marker is paid for by the people or group of people who nominate the site. They also pay for the installation of the marker and they must agree to keep the marker in good condition.

The markers come in three sizes. The price will vary if the marker is designed to put on the wall or a post, and if the letters are 5/8" or 1."

A small marker is 16" x 24" and can cost from $350 - $380.

A medium marker is 24" x 36" and can cost from $925 - $1,225.

A large marker is 54" x 72" and can cost from $1,800 - $2,000.

Sometimes donations are given and that money can be used to help pay for some of the costs.
