HOW MANY HISTORICAL MARKERS ARE IN THE STATE OF WISCONSIN?

Special places, important people, and memorable events have helped make Wisconsin history. Official state markers, placed along highways or in communities, help us remember or celebrate our Wisconsin heritage. The first historical marker was placed near the Peshtigo Fire Cemetery. There are now 245 markers throughout Wisconsin. New ones are added every year.
